The Ex in Beautiful Frenzy plot

Documentary about making music without considering how music should sound. While the record companies have large sums of money for the latest alternative music discovery, the Dutch band ''The Ex'' for some 25 years has chosen to distance themselves from that industry, to do things their own way, quirky as they are. The quartet from Amsterdam does everything themselves. From booking their concerts to running their own label: Ex Records. With this they have managed to conquer their own unique independent position in Alternative rock and Avantgarde Jazz, with many admirers. Interspersed with old archive material, the band is followed over a period of two years on tour in Europe and the US, and rehearsing in their home port of Amsterdam.
