The 'Chinese' on the corner has become so common that no one thinks about it anymore. This film portrays one of the many special families that can be found behind the facade of the Chinese restaurants. The world behind the hatch. Chinese restaurants can be found in almost every town and city in the world. The restaurants usually look the same and serve the same dishes, which are adapted per country to the local taste. The Chinese on the corner is a small family business, in which the parents and their children work 16 hours a day, 365 days a year to earn their money. This is the story of the life behind the conduit of one of those anonymous hardworking families in a Chinese restaurant somewhere in a provincial town in the Netherlands. Behind the restaurant doors we see a family that does have a face and a background that is much more special than you thought.
