John Horace Mason is a young lawyer who is very busy. However, John surprises family and colleagues by coming home married. With many problems, he manages to convince the judge Joseph M. Doolittle to allow him two weeks of vacation so that he can go on a honeymoon to Europe with his fresh wife Jane. However, when John is about to leave, he is needed again, which is the first of many attacks on the new marital happiness of Jane and him.
