Macon County Line plot
"They're on the bad side of the wrong man."
Shortly after three innocent youths drive into a small Georgia town, they are wrongly suspected of murder. The sheriff's wife has been brutally murdered and the village suspects them of it. Based on a true incident in the fall of 1954.

This year I'm watching quite a few films from the year I was born, and this is one of them. A forgotten redneck thriller and a drive-in classic for the Americans. Don't be fooled by the limited number of votes because Macon County Line has a stronger reputation than you might think. The fact that it is based on true facts is nonsense. It's completely made up. It takes a long time for the film to get into gear, but for the last twenty minutes you are exactly watching a horror film.
I'll give my own synopsis: Two brothers take a road trip before they have to join the army and pick up a wandering young woman along the way. Their car breaks down and they end up in Macon County, but the arrival of two fugitive criminals will plunge everyone into a nightmare.
Anyone who likes the Road 66 atmosphere with sunny country drives and sleepy villages will get their money's worth here. I was already looking forward to it. The switch to thriller is very abrupt and you almost don't see it coming, but I thought the effect was overwhelming. So definitely worth a high vote.
