A group of vagrants enter the Black-footed Indian territory to hunt for fur animals. Their captain marries the granddaughter of the chieftain, because he expects benefit from it. What begins as a calculating marriage, however, ends in true love. However, bitter fights between the fur hunters and the Indians cost his Indian wife's life.
