Blood Simple plot
"Breaking up is hard to do."
Julian Marty, the tormented owner of a Texas bar, thinks his wife Abby is committing adultery again. He hires private detective Loren Visser to track her and gather evidence. It turns out that Abby has indeed run off with another guy, Ray, who works in Marty's bar. When Marty finds out, he is furious and wants Visser to kill the couple for a good amount of money...

Awesome! You can easily find the Joël Coen “hand” in it at the end of the ride. Smart one-liners, beautiful characters. And it's a weird, exciting and entertaining story. Bakelite telephones, eighties hits and striking film music that enhances the thrill. Easy story or not, I am not left with a cheap feeling: honest, original: back to the past. As simple as beautifully filmed: delicious! Thanks to Kurtz and Drulko Vlaschjan for the fun!

Excellent film in which a bar owner suspects his wife of cheating on his co-worker. A simple plot for this effective film noir. Despite or perhaps because of the slow pace, it is quite exciting (especially the finale). Nice camera work here and there and the stamp of the Coen brothers is already quite clearly present in this debut film of theirs.
