Yawn. Cherry Falls has, as I expected, quite little in the way of story, but there is really nothing else that saves the film from destruction. Bad acting by the entire cast, even Michael Biehn sometimes seems to wonder what the hell he is doing here, but it is really mainly the horribly clichéd rushing that practically all Scream rip offs are guilty of. The film takes itself quite seriously, has a huge lack of suspense or interesting action and as always a huge load of annoying characters that you won't feel anything for for a moment. And teens who are going to have an orgy to make sure a killer won't kill them because they're virgins? Please say...

Yet another bad slasher, I have yet to see the first fun one of the post-Scream series.

Typical post-scream slasher. In that respect I always find the influence of Scream a bit exaggerated, because how many really good films has it inspired since then? Usually they are way too tame (see here..) and predictable with a rather laid-back atmosphere. Fortunately, the slasher has now come a bit ''further'' (more back to basic, actually). Brittany Murphy, who died much too young, plays the good citizen bitch and does so as was expected from such a role at the time. This Cherry Falls is in many top lists for modern slasher (post 2000), but the reason why...? It's not all that funny (anymore).

“Holy hymens, Batman - they're killing virgins!”

Mediocre slasher movie. I see Cherry Falls more as a comedy, but I still get the idea that the makers had a serious film in mind. But it's not exciting anywhere, and the acting is really bad. Murphy, Mohr and Biehn can do better than this. You can even see who the serial killer is from miles away, and all you can do is laugh at so much nonsense.
