Great release from 88 Films, one I've been waiting for for a long time. For other (potential) buyers: don't forget to read the hilarious insert. Lenzi snobbishly burns everything and everyone down (including this film, which felt more like an easy working holiday for him)... very entertaining. He made many cheap horror films in a very short period of time in the late 80s, but the same goes for many other Italian directors/producers. Everything had to be made even cheaper and even faster, often two films at the same time. Lenzi also received two scripts at the time. One for what later became Rage, Furia Primitiva (1988)... and this Nightmare Beach. A completely over the top 80's cheesefest slasher that is only equaled in Killer Workout (1987). Those who want to see it purely as a slasher will be less enthusiastic about it. Apart from some smoldering corpses, it is mainly the wild hairstyles and eccentric outfits (or lack of...) that steal the show. Delicious!

Wonderful 80s atmosphere and accompanying typical music, bright colors, sharp images (even during scenes in the dark) and until the end it remained guessing who the helmeted motorcyclist in the shiny black motorcycle suit was. This provided sufficient viewing pleasure and excitement. I couldn't sympathize with the characters, because everything was too superficial for that. The story was quite thin. The transfer to the Blu-ray from 88-Films was breathtakingly successful.

A horror film where the serial killer is not so predictable, which improves the tension. You can't ignore the 80s in this film considering the clothes, going out, the music, ... it seems that you are flashed back to this time. Simple story, but effective in terms of horror film. 6/10
