Really much better than expected. Less preachy than Gorris' first one. Told with pace and I even laughed. Who would have thought. 3.5

Strong philosophical film. After being stranded by a crash, five men survive, who—though not all—subsequently begin a patriarchal arms race, which culminates in religious fanaticism, lust, jealousy, etc. The two women who survive view the situation differently, which leads to interesting controversies. It is interesting how quickly a mini-society emerges in which people revert to old values, and that is precisely the lesson to be learned. A new world...new............3.6* Freeman, McLeod, Hayes, and Colley deliver good performances. A typical Goris film.
