"For them, life is a real soap opera"

Pastiche on the Peruvian telenovelas (soaps) tells the story of Ana, a rich, bored housewife. When her husband rents out the garden to the film crew of the soap opera El destino no tiene favoritos and goes on a business trip, Ana finds it a welcome change in her predictable life. She follows the filming from her window and soon becomes as captivated by the soap as her two maids. Ana is accidentally mistaken for an actress and is cast for a part, much to the envy of the other actresses and her maids. The gossip, intrigue and blackmail on set are not uncommon. The boundary between the two worlds - Ana's and that of the soap - is becoming increasingly blurred.
