Alaska plot
"A missing father. A desperate search. An unforgettable adventure."
After the death of his wife, Jake Barnes moved to Alaska with his son Sean and daughter Jessie. Even though he used to be a civilian pilot, he started working as an air courier in the inhospitable area. One day, when he has to deliver an urgent order and struggles through a violent storm, his plane goes missing in the mountains. Jessie and Sean feel that the government is putting too little energy into the search for their father. They decide to look for him themselves and embark on a dangerous adventure in which they get the help of a polar bear that they have rescued from the hands of a trapper.

Trust the bear.
The story is cluttered with clichés - and besides that it's not very original, there are several movies that follow pretty much the same plot. And just like in all those movies, the kids aren't very smart this time - but luckily they have a polar bear to help them this time. Yes, that makes up for a lot, even if you can sometimes see too well from his coat that his collar is only taken off shortly before the shot.
By the way, the bear is a real film bear - he also appears in Operasjon Arktis (2014), for example. So that's one of those movies that has a similar plot. A different role for the bear. And Dirk Benedict is also back in his old profession here, although he has something significantly easier to fly here than in Battlestar Galactica. And then of course Thora Birch, the eternal film daughter.
