During World War II, the USS Indianapolis is known as one of the fastest ships in the United States Navy. Under the command of Captain McVay, the crew fought valiant battles in the Pacific. When President Truman negotiates a German surrender with the Germans, McVay is given a new mission. The US government has a secret weapon to transport McVay and his crew to Guam.
