Very mediocre drama. Actually, this film has few to no highlights, except that Freeman and Judd try to make the best of it. Take these two away and you're left with a monstrosity.

The story is very weak and very predictable. In addition, you can fill in the ending of just about all court thrillers in advance, so it never really captivates.

No, this movie doesn't make me hot or cold. Two stars for the two protagonists, but if I want to watch them in a movie, I'll put on another movie anyway.

Fail.

Nice Thriller/Drama film, with good roles from Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. The ending was a bit surprising, but good.

When Tom Kubik (Jim Caviezel) is arrested, his wife Claire Kubik (Ashley Judd) discovers that he has hidden another life from her. As a soldier, Tom would have slaughtered a bunch of civilians, but claims to be innocent. Claire takes on the defense as a lawyer, assisted by Charlie Grimes (Morgan Freeman), an experienced hand who finds it difficult to keep his hands off the bottle.

Don't expect fireworks or many surprises, but an entertaining thriller with themes geopolitics, double lives, justice, corruption and even romance, which spends quite a bit of time in court. Thanks to the talented actors, with Morgan Freeman leading the way, the story contains enough distraction and Ashley Judd (who I have a bit of a soft spot for) was also a fun and beautiful woman to watch at the time.

All in all a Nice Thriller / Drama film, which is largely set in court and sometimes reminiscent of the Drama / Thriller film "A Few Good Men ( 1992)", but more sloppy.

I'll start by deducting 1 star from it anyway because of the stupid ending and the many unanswered questions: a lot of balls are thrown but nothing comes back, let alone that this is worked out. It was a good story with a predictable ending. Freeman, Judd and Peet did quite well. Unfortunately I have nothing to do with Caviezel. Certainly not in this movie.
