Presley has a strange role in this even stranger comedy about Indians. From obscurely vague to above averagely funny and everything in between. Especially the songs come at the most insane moments. Still, in the long line of films by The King, this is certainly not the worst. Partly successful but still reasonably entertaining pulp.

Quite a nice farce as they could only be made in that time window of the late 60s. The straight 50s and swinging 60s are behind us and new horizons beckon. It is a comedy that goes in many directions. Striking is the starting point of a Navajo community living in miserable conditions. It is the 60s, a time of all possible social criticism, and then you get a comedy about poor natives. Bizarre indeed. This could never be made today. The funny situations follow each other well, whereby you once again have to show sufficient empathy. But in essence there were more bizarre comedies in that time, so it also fits in a row.

Oh yes, the King of Rock'n Roll is also in this. He plays the Navajo lead, which also contains a certain irony because one of his ancestors was a Cherokee. He also gets to sing a few songs, the title track of which is a revival ofGreensleeves.

Entertainment from a bygone era and in my opinion not as bad as a certain opinion suggests.
