Also liked it. The biggest problem is that the budget seemed to have run out after the first practical effects. This is followed by numerous kills, but almost always left out of the picture as much as possible or solved by letting the victims disappear in the sand (and even then it's still broke ..). Fortunately, the concept is very cool. Gabaeff gives a shit and starts/ends the event without getting explanatory. It is what it is and the panicked teens get to fix it. Could have been more responsive to the circumstances. Little attention is paid to the heat, while that is precisely the factor that can make everything so unbearable. The CGI hurts the eyes, but the rest is fine B fodder. Agree with Noodless!

Nice story, well acted, beautiful women and a few bloody scenes. All the elements are there for a successful horror film. Just with a bag of chips in hand and a nice creep.

Just not 4 stars

Watched today on Blu-ray, the movie is called: '' Killer Beach '' and not '' The sand '' but it is the same movie.

A group of young people who had a party wake up in the middle of the beach, 1 is sitting on a bench, another couple is in a beach house and a couple is in the car and 1 is in an oil barrel.

It soon turns out that they are not allowed to touch the ground as some kind of worm / tentacles lives here (think Tremors or Octopus), there are some deaths and you also see some nudity in the film, but only in the beginning.

It is quite an original story that I have not seen before, nowhere does it get really exciting or really horror, but nice kills sometimes and reasonable to do.

At the end you can also see the beast in the dark.

All in all nice to have seen and quite successful, could have been such an Asylum production.
