"The search for her son was over. The search for her family was just beginning."

Beth Cappadora is a loving and devoted mother and wife. In addition to taking care of her family, she also has a successful career as a photographer. She and her three children take a weekend off to attend a school reunion. While waiting to check in in the crowded hotel lobby, her three-year-old son Ben disappears into the crowd. The disappearance has a devastating effect on the lives of Beth and her husband Pat. Time passes and with Pat's help, Beth and the other kids eventually get back to normal. Until nine years later a boy suddenly rings the doorbell who shows many similarities with the missing Ben.

I expected an average drama and it is. After review, I'm actually less impressed with it. I also think Michelle plays a very strong role. Everyone reacts differently if something like this happened to him and I thought it was refreshing to see a mother turn completely inside herself and stiffen instead of reacting hysterically. So you can really see that every person just reacts differently to a severe situation.

I don't really know what to do with the ending. I thought it was a bit too abrupt. She finds him again. He's coming home. It fails and he goes back to the father who raised him. And out of nowhere (in my opinion) he goes back again. I would have preferred to have seen that explained a bit more.

But otherwise a film that certainly leaves an impression on you.

Also agree with the above messages that the film feels unbelievable. The whole premise is improbable, but I don't really believe in the elaboration either. It is my understanding that twins who grow up separated often develop the same characters with the same preferences, which seems to indicate that character is genetic. Brothers or sisters who initially do not know of each other's existence often have a huge click when they meet. For that reason it feels unbelievable that there isn't a better click between the prodigal son and the family when they reunite. It's interesting to see how the movie overcomes that lack of click. , but the ending feels forced and too sentimental, and the soundtrack is also sadly on the sentimental side. In the end, not much memorable, so I end up with 1*.
