Adele Tasca (Sophia Loren) is convinced that her husband, a chemist, was murdered by the wealthy businessman and drug lord Stegner. When she goes to justice to report her suspicion, justice decides to pressure mobster Sal Hyman to track down Stegner. Hyman, in turn, enlists ex-arms maker Jerry Fanon (James Coburn) and his assistant Catlett (OJ Simpson) to bring Stegner down once and for all.
