Hugely underrated, extremely rough / dirty neo-noir with fantastic photography by Jost Vocano. Great cast, with a witty cameo for Ron Jeremy.

small 4*

Great film about a stubborn businessman (Roy Scheider) who is blackmailed by three men through a video with his mistress (Kelly Preston). In the first part, the criminals manage to put a lot of pressure on the businessman Harry that he has nowhere to go and that he has to explain the situation to his wife (Ann-Margret). But gradually Harry cleverly manages to turn the situation around, causing the three men to distrust each other. Well set up, excellent raw atmosphere and a strong cast. The three criminals are portrayed in a wonderful way, with John Glover in particular radiating the most persuasiveness and charisma. Vanity also shows her best sides. 7.5/10

Good mid eighties neo noir. The tension is there from the start and that is largely due to the strong role of the tormented Roy Scheider. He may have a head for being strange and that is played out well here. The villains form an entertaining complementary trio. Some actions of certain characters do not make much sense from the couch, but we have to put the latter into perspective. The soundtrack is real eighties electro. And in between Roy listens to bouncy jazz, which is a typical genre for noir films. Direction and photography are excellent. Some talent worked on this film and it turned out well.
