Body Snatchers plot
"Imagine... you're gone and someone else is living inside your body."
Steve Malone arrives at Fort Daly with his young family. As an environmentalist, he must investigate the toxic storage site. He is so absorbed in his work that he does not notice the oppressive atmosphere and the bizarre occurrences on the base. The soldiers complain that they are being robbed of their identity. Andy witnesses how his mother first 'crumbles' and then steps out of the wardrobe in perfect health. When Steve is sucked in his sleep by gruesome flesh tentacles under the watchful eye of his wife, it gradually becomes clear that the Body Snatchers are back in the country.

Mediocre film about a young woman who ends up living on an army base with her father and stepmother. Compared to the two predecessors from 1956 and 1978, this version lacks a good tension build-up. The paranoid atmosphere also remains virtually absent. A few nice scenes and the entire finale is also worth seeing.

Less than the versions of Don Siegel (1956) and Philip Kaufman (1978) respectively, but as a genre film the Body Snatchers (1993) does not look bad at all. It was the third successful film, after King of New York (1990) and Bad Lieutenant (1992) by director Abel Ferrara, although I had the impression that Ferrara was kept quite chained by the studio during this horror remake.
Yet the end result is not without merit at all, the film, which is largely set on a military base, has a creepy atmosphere, has a pleasant appearance with Gabrielle Anwar while her mother Meg Tilly shows the other side well. Moreover, we find in the supporting roles of Forest Whitaker and R. Lee Ermey return, no bad names of course.
In addition, Jack Finney's original story remains strong and Abel Ferrara does his job properly. This produces some excellent suspense scenes and the sinister ambiance and good soundtrack do the rest.

After the Snatchers from 1978, we saw this one again and it was not disappointing. They do their best to deliver a nice product and that has been quite successful. It is a dime a dozen, but if you're looking for a bit of suspense, this is the right place for you.
I personally liked the 1978 film with the legumes better, but in terms of speed this one better meets the requirements of our time. The films are also 15 years apart and that is sometimes noticeable.
Maybe something for a novice director to remake the whole thing again?
