As Young as You Feel

Entertaining screwball comedy about an old man who gets fired for being too old and then gets a bright idea. This is As Young as You Feel in a nutshell and so it doesn't seem that special.

But why is the film so entertaining to watch? Mainly the actors. A wonderfully beautiful Marilyn Monroe (who has a hilarious pelvic pulling scene) but also Monty Woolley is really good as a copycat. For the rest, there are still an unstable mother, a workaholic as a future fiancé and a disturbed boss and they all provide a cozy and humorous atmosphere.

Again a nice Marilyn Monroe movie if it weren't for the fact that she doesn't really come into the picture too much but is blown up on the poster to star of the film, which happened a lot with her films in those days.

3.5*

edit: actually going to introduce a much nicer poster.

Mind at 0 film, nice and short and therefore easy to sit out.

However, 3.5 stars that I gave at first I think are a bit on the high side, but 3 stars are still in order.

Entertaining quickie like dozens made during the golden years of the big Hollywood studios. The occasional pedantic story matters little. Thelma Ritter is obviously a pleasure to watch again. The lovely Marilyn Monroe doesn't have much to do, but playfully steals the scenes in which she appears.
