The Land before Time plot
"A new adventure is born."
An orphaned brontosaurus named Littlefoot sets out in search of the fabled Great Valley: a land full of food where dinosaurs can live in peace. During his journey, he encounters four other young dinosaurs and they must work together to survive.

A real animation for children. I don't think I've ever seen a film by "Platvoet", so I don't care much for it and the youth sentiment that others may have with this pass me by. What remains is a sweet and beautiful animation about five nice dinosaurs, a kind of 80s precursor to the Ice Age films. Mainly aimed at the little ones. 3*

Old glory.
As is the case for many people here, this used to be one of my favorite animations. Especially because this one was slightly sadder than the average animated film that was broadcast. But I don't think I've reviewed this one since I was 10 or so.
Tonight I gave it another chance and I still recognize that basic quality. Enough tension and of course the death of his mother just before halfway through. A fairly short moment that still has an impact, even if it comes quite early in the film.
Furthermore, it is mainly a lot of playing dino children in a film that does not have much to say. The usual setbacks, the road that is covered in 3 stages and of course the good ending. Animation is rather limited and the drawing style is also not very nice, but fortunately the film does not stretch too long and for once it was quite okay. But it won't be an annual tradition.
