Schultze's life, which consists of his job, the café, his allotment, folk music and fishing, is disrupted when he and his mates Manfred and Jürgen lose their jobs. As life loses its luster and the daily routine becomes a farce, Schultze discovers a life on the other side of the mountain. Just saw it for the 3rd time. Schultze is a sympathetic and touching German who loves music. He not only seeks it, but he also finds it: MUSIC.

A great movie. I came across this film in the middle of the night on German television while zapping, when Schultze was already in America. Found it so slow, fun and unusual, that I immediately ordered the DvD. I've seen it 3 times in the last 3 years and it's still fun.
