Very nice comedy.

And so absolutely not a full-blooded horror or thriller. Ok, the film has a few scenes that are a bit gory and yes, there are a few jumpscare effects in it, but that's about it.

A fun setup in which 5 characters in one car are confronted with a considerable amount of stress. The film then goes full steam ahead with fantastically stupid dialogues, with magnified situations and with characters that are just wonderfully flat.

These are all recognizable elements that are actually not very different from those from an average horror film, I now notice. A real horror kicks in on top of these elements with a portion of fear, with a lot of tension, with gruesome plastic effects and with a real creep. All elements that I have not seen here.

The approach in this film is simply humor and not horror. The stressed characters humorously go all out in this black comedy. Stress does not only scary but also funny things to a person.

I've enjoyed it.

Great low budget horror comedy. Interesting concept, very fine execution, with a surprising ending. Nothing to say about this picture. Ray Wise is obviously a hero. Where in the beginning I could laugh a lot at my son with his comments, mothers and co. after that more and more out of the paint. Nice division of roles. And there is no end to that forest road! Fantastic. All the stress, bullshit and (exciting / funny) events along the way, very entertaining. Enjoyed very much. Nice playing time too.

Laugh.

In terms of horror, you should actually take this with a grain of salt, because this felt more like a kind of parody of the horror movies. This actually keeps the horror itself fairly limited, but I still had a good laugh a few times.

It starts with the fact that it isn't exciting anywhere outside of a few scares, and the makers don't seem to really want that either. Acting is very solid, humor is often catchy. Here and there it is a bit bland, and they went on too long with a joke.

I had a lot of fun with this, I think it worked. For me this is really an example of how parodies should be done and that characters don't have to be thrown in everywhere from the nonsensical chaos. All the clichés are made fun of here, and that's what makes it so much fun.

Passed, one of the nicer horror movies I've seen so far.
