In nineteenth-century Paris, a couple is gruesomely murdered by a maniac who ripped their hearts out with a steel claw. The only witness is a young girl, but she is unable to help the police and the investigation eventually stalls. More than ten years later, however, a wax museum opens, with the main attraction being the wax reproductions of some gruesome unsolved murders.
