Beautiful, atmospheric 'vampire' film about a beautiful young bride who cannot suspect that her in-laws are carrying a dark secret.
Soon she is haunted by dreams of a mysterious woman. When her dreams become fleshly, the newlywed is sucked into a nightmare of unholy communion, violent murders and forbidden sexual desires.
Impressive movie. The tension is slowly built up, so that the shock moments fall extra raw on your roof! This haunting horror tale of lesbian love and reincarnation is based on Le Fanu's immortal vampire tale 'Carmila'.
Not heavy with splatter and gore, no buckets of blood, is this film supposed to have haunting and sexual tension, give in to temptation or break under the madness? The images are beautiful and fairytale-like, making the blood moments extra hard! The music accompanies the images perfectly, without becoming overpowering! In fact, I didn't even realize it was the music that made me so restless until it was too late!
Lesbourotic vampire love, and it's not an Anne Rice film adaptation??? woohoo!!! Don't expect a hardcore all girl crotch-on-crotch action, but a stunning exercise in undead lesbian seduction technique! Well worth it, for those who dare!

Stylish horror print with a surrealistic touch, in which the beautiful photography and the beautiful setting stand out. There are some great shots in the movie like the dream sequence where Susan wants to kill her husband under the guidance of the vampire. Another example is the bizarre encounter on the beach between the husband and a naked woman who is completely hidden in the sand. The portraits in the basement, of which one painting had its face gone, also had something to offer. The female interpretations are well portrayed. The young girl plays well and the two ladies Maribel Martín and Alexandra Bastedo are both mysterious and beautiful. They can also be seen naked. The story is not much and it is not really exciting. However, it is not predictable because the effect towards the end would be different. A bit abrupt, but also unusual considering the fate of the girl. 6/10
