De Rode Zwaan plot

Jakob's grandfather has lived in France for years, but comes to the Netherlands to spend his old age in his hometown. During the autumn holidays, Jakob stays with his grandfather and is fascinated by his exciting folktales set in the village. But while fixing up his new house, Grandpa slips and ends up sick in bed. In feverish dreams he keeps babbling about a swan. An elderly lady who looks after Grandpa tells Jakob that his grandfather had a wooden red swan as a child that he lost. Worried about his sick grandfather, Jakob goes in search of the red swan and ends up in an adventurous fairytale world.
