Have a nice Disney. Still looks good for a film from that era. Filming was also done on site near the Matterhorn and that provides beautiful shots. Third Man is a tribute to the golden age of mountaineering in the mid-19th century, when many British people (depicted here by Cpt Winter) traveled to Germany, Switzerland and Austria to conquer the local peaks. The beginning of mountain tourism was a fact.

A good-natured adventure film for young and old where the lure of the mountain outweighs the moderation of reason. Uncle Franz appears a bit gruff and belittling to his cousin Rudi "the dishwasher", but later it turns out that he is actually just overprotective. For some reason I thought that worked well. It is good and it is quite strange to see such a film again in a time where violence, tears and aggressiveness are everywhere in films.
