The story was quite nice (although not original) but unfortunately there was no tension. The story did keep the attention. The acting performances are not really of a very high level, say on autopilot level. It is certainly not a bad film but with such a cast they should have gotten more out of it.

Quite a pleasant movie.

I found the cast reasonable, not super or anything but good enough. Val Kilmer surprised me positively here too.

There is a great peace in it, the assembly is fine.
Beautiful ladies.
Nice settings in New Mexico.
Exciting at times, but secretly you could guess what was going to happen.

Somehow I'll remember the hat in the air and the tequila the most. Maybe because they came up more often, but other than that this movie didn't make much of an impression.

Quite nice to look at.

Thursday night means sports after work but last night I didn't feel like it which resulted in a movie night with three movies from the pile I got from the cleaning lady a while back. Kicked off with this Blind Horizon with the late Val Kilmer where this movie can mainly count on a decent cast, yet this turned out not to be all that great.

John Doe wakes up and the film starts with a reasonable mystery that is very similar to Nolan's Memento because there too we have someone with a bad memory who puzzles the plot together piece by piece. As already said the cast is more than decent with Kilmer, Shepard, Faye Dunaway and Neve Campbell, and Amy Smart is very nice to look at. The flashbacks are nicely designed in a hallucinatory and gritty way and let's not forget that the plot concerns an attack on the president.

But that's about it with a film that never gets exciting for a moment, and is also predictable because Frank who tries to thwart the attack and has lost his memory will be far too easy, so within the first five minutes I have already figured out that he is the hitman himself who has lost his memory. The plot is easy to guess because otherwise it would be predictable and that while they do their utmost with a lot of characters and especially exciting music. Still, it is not in it for me for a moment and I am glad that the film is over and Amy Smart appears briefly in the final minutes. Not sufficient as far as I am concerned.
