Good film in which a girl plans a murder and has it carried out by a friend of hers. A bit of a strange and also original film, but one that knows how to captivate. A kind of gruesome fairy tale for adults (without it becoming horror). Of the cast, Natacha Régnier makes the most impression.

Somewhat disappointing review.
It remains a fun and somewhat strange film, this early Ozon. A weird mix between crime, torture porn and fairy tale, in which Ozon still manages to find a nice balance. The surprise is of course a bit gone the second time, but it really didn't become much less interesting.
What is striking is the visual decay. Here and there a picture, but those are clearly moments within an otherwise quite ugly film. The impact of the horror elements has also become somewhat less, that's what you get when torture porn would be produced in droves for decades.
The result is a film that is certainly still interesting, also recommended for people who have not seen it yet, but that no longer manages to stick. Has not been able to stand the test of time perfectly, which makes a second viewing just a little less. Certainly not a bad film, but no longer the glory of before.

I sometimes had to think back to the much more recent Adoration (Film, 2019) by Fabrice Du Welz. Here too, a lovesick teenager is led by the antics of a sometimes crazy girl. At the same time, you have the impression that you are in the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel.
A successful Ozon in any case, but also one that could have been developed a bit better. Alice was the most intriguing character. Only what a shame that her limited aloof role in the basement doesn't bring her character to the forefront enough.
Luc doesn't know anything about wood. An extremely naive and impressionable personality. Incidentally, a great role by the still young Renier. The flight adds extra speed to the film. Entertaining already!
