I always enjoy a movie with Harrison Ford. This Witness was also quite unknown to me. Again a decent rendition of Ford, who as a policeman is half-hidden within an Amish community. In any case, a beautiful and intriguing decor. The film is said to give a fairly realistic portrayal of the Amish community with its idiosyncratic cultural and religious customs. The bullying later in the movie made me feel bad anyway. It's also nice to see a very young and debuting Viggo Mortensen appear in this film. However, its role is very limited. And I'd rather see Danny Glover in the right camp.

An entertaining film with a slow pace. Not your standard action or crime film, but a film with a lot of quiet moments where the tension is present, but the romance and drama dominate. Weir manages to keep the film at a constant level and keep the attention of the viewer. In Ford he has a charismatic and (literally) disarmed actor for whom this is a breeze.

Pleasantly surprised and partly due to the beautiful setting a successful film. The ending is also good and not too cliche. Nice!

Beautiful film with a strong script, good actors and a beauty of a setting.

Thriller lovers must see this one, it is simply a feast for the eyes for almost 2 hours!

I won't say anything more about it, you just have to watch the movie!

Rating from us is an 8+!

What a beautiful understated film. Peter Weit takes the time to tell the story and that naturally fits the Amish lifestyle, which is beautifully portrayed. Romance, drama and suspense are wonderfully intertwined.

There are very nice scenes from the boy's point of view, for example in the beginning of the film. I found the most beautiful scene at the police station when the boy identifies the corrupt cop as the perpetrator and the cop feels this too, goosebumps! The movie has a really nice atmosphere.

The actors were also in shape. Nice subdued game with occasional emotional outbursts. It was a deception in the end that things didn't work out between Rachel and John because the love just exploded!
