Almost 20 years later, still going strong.

I'm still not a big fan of South Korean cinema, but this film manages to stand out enough. Mostly reminiscent of Japanese drama from that time. Calm films with themes that can be quite challenging, especially because the film itself does not really focus on it (and therefore does not become a moral lesson).

Visually it is pleasant. Nothing too exceptional, but nicely designed. The score is of the same level, although it sometimes verges on the edge of corniness. The acting is also of a high standard, and the film keeps it neatly within 90 minutes. Also not obvious when you skim ZK films.

The premise remains, a relationship between a 32-year-old teacher and his 17-year-old student. Taboo perhaps, but it is true and during the film I never doubted for a moment that the two were made for each other. Strong.

4.0* and a extensive review
