Tarzan and the Amazons plot
"Hidden City Of Women . . . Forbidden To Men!"
Tarzan and Boy are on their way to Randini to pick up Jane. Suddenly they are startled by the screams of a young woman, who is being chased by wild animals. Tarzan immediately jumps into action and drives out the black panther and leopards. However, the young woman has fallen and is unable to return on her own to Palmeria, the secret kingdom of the Amazons. Tarzan brings the warrior back on his own. This does not go down well with Boy. The boy thinks it's stupid that Tarzan is being so secretive about Palmeria and doesn't understand at all when a few days later Tarzan refuses to guide Sir Guy Henderson, a close friend of Jane's father, to the kingdom.

This was indeed the first film in which successor Joyce played Jane. This film of the famous Tarzan was fine again. The setting here also looks very beautiful. This Tarzan adventure was entertaining and good. In any case, I enjoyed it again. A 4.0.

Of course, greed and the plundering of treasures under the guise of scientific research play a theme once again in the Tarzan series—modern civilization invariably bears the brunt—but sacrifice to foreign idols is apparently never a moral problem.
I have always found this double standard to be a strange phenomenon; it sometimes seems as if people want to soothe their own consciences by rejecting their own culture.
But enough philosophical chatter, the film is quite entertaining and the story fairly simple, fine for well over an hour of enjoyment.
It's a shame that the Amazon civilization remains very superficial, a few scenes without real depth, that's all we have to work with.
