John Person is an unsuccessful actor with huge debts. A meddling neighbor offers him a deal: He has to deliver a blue briefcase to a mysterious man somewhere in the desert, and his creditors will disappear like snow in the sun. He accepts the assignment with the result that he ends up in another world.
