Yep, Barbara Stanwyck, too, was condemned to starring in a low-budget horror film at the end of her career. Not entirely surprisingly, she is the only reason to see this bizarre, but hardly terrifying, horror movie. William Castle was undoubtedly delighted with his high-profile lead actress, but although there are some visual gimmicks, this is hardly remarkable, certainly by Castle's own standards.

Good film about a woman who has recurring dreams about an extramarital affair. A beautiful and somewhat abstract opening that immediately sets the tone. The mysterious atmosphere in which dream and reality merge is well maintained (especially during the scene in the little church). Perhaps a bit overdone, but it is effective.
