Mike Ribble was once a great trapeze artist, and the only one to ever do a three-way flip until he had an accident. Tino joins the circus and persuades Mike to teach him the three-way flip. Lola, an acrobat, hears this and wants to join the act.

A classic, yet especially stylish, 1950s film. The film's greatest strengths lie in the cast, stunning costumes, and sets. The circus and the streets of Paris look beautiful. Gina Lollobrigida is one of my favorite actresses, so I loved her anyway 
. I did find the argument between Mike and Tino a bit overdone. But otherwise, it's a very good film and one of the classics of the 1950s. 4.0.

Nice story about a love triangle packaged as a spectacular circus act.
This must have been familiar territory for Burt Lancaster, having worked as an acrobat in a circus in the 1930s. The radiant Gina Lollobrigida doesn't have to rely solely on her good looks this time, as her acting in this film is more than acceptable. The same goes for "the third in the league," Tony Curtis.
All in all, not a great film, but quite pleasant to watch.

A decent film about an acrobat who, after a fall, trains a younger acrobat. The film starts well, and the latter part is also good, though it sometimes sags a bit in between. This is mainly due to the romantic developments, which aren't always captivating. The trapeze acts look good, with excellent stunts and some nice camerawork here and there.
