I can understand that people find this a vague or weird movie..

I myself watched this film with a group of friends during a truffle trip and I found the film very brain-tickling, I watched it from beginning to end with amazement and that is why I thought it was a bizarre but still fun film that is not for everyone.

I found this a very strong animation film full of fantasy and with a clear plot. Technically maybe not the best picture. The use of color was a bit blurry and the Oms and Draags could have been worked out in more detail, but for the rest it was thumbs and fingers licking with so much splendor.

Throughout the film you imagine yourself in a painting by Hieronymus Bosch with a dystopian strange world full of strange creatures with various characteristics. The creativity and fantasy are the strong points of this animated film. But the plot is also not underexposed in which the Draags rule the world and see the Oms as useless, but not to be underestimated creatures. Their existence must remain within limits and their knowledge must not increase too quickly in order not to endanger the existence of the Graads. It is somewhat reminiscent of the mythical stories from ancient times about Gods and people who lived together or it is somewhat reminiscent of the Holocaust or War of the worlds if you like.

In addition, science (development) and religion are also central, with both movements clashing. Knowledge and ignorance result in a power struggle to establish the rule of the Oms once and for all.

Nice story and cool animation but the film also fades away after half an hour, I found the second part (after the escape) less captivating than the sweet part between Draag and Terr. And then it also plays a role that the cool animation doesn't really help to really get into the story like with more 'normal' animation. 3.0*.
