Nice and changeable this SF horror. The plot twists are not that compelling. The difference between day and night is not always clear either. But other special effects look reasonable to picobello. Especially the way in which the aliens died was very terrifying. In short, still a very nice movie.

None other than Stephen King drew attention to this nostalgic horror pulp via his Facebook page. Mainly because he found the title intriguing. It's an amusing rip-off of contemporaries like 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1956) and other classic invasion movies. This title has many single men making sarcastic remarks about the institution of marriage and a tragic romance between a human and an alien. The robotic acting is wooden and static, but it is precisely the surreality of it that contributes to the dryly comical atmosphere that the print seems to be about. Or maybe it's my nostalgia that makes it all seem a lot more comical in the present day. The few encounters with the alien race in their natural form rarely become scary due to the extremely cheesy effect that shows the transition from human to alien. Fortunately, this predictable nothingness works towards a most charming climax. It even elicits some sympathy for those damned aliens on their breeding mission

I thought it was an amusing alien invasion story, not nearly as strong and oppressive as invasion of the body snatchers but it still has its charms.
The effects are (even for that time) not really strong, but we can leave that to our imagination.
Furthermore, the story is a bit weak, in which it is particularly noticeable that Marge does not use the knowledge she gains from the aliens to identify them.
The ending is surprisingly innovative.
A tight 3 stars seems like the maximum to me.
