In 2023, Tanja Kok interviewed the then 89-year-old Truus Kuijpers, who played a key role in the early 1970s in the adoption of Chilean children by Dutch parents. The adopted children often discovered later that their biological parents were still alive and that they had been brought to the Netherlands under false pretenses. More than 50 years later, those involved recount what happened to them. The lack of concrete evidence is frustrating for those directly involved, but with her leading commentary, Kok points to the now deceased Truus Kuijpers as the culprit. Instead of focusing on the corrupt network underlying illegal adoptions, Kok limits herself on a journalistic level to demonizing Kuijpers. She maintained until her death that she had purely good intentions and could just as easily have been a victim of a corrupt regime.
