Our feathered shadow. 'Krähen - Nature Is Watching Us' (2023) is a hypnotic nature documentary with a philosophical slant. What do crows see when they look at us from the air? Which animal species—human or bird—is actually evolving alongside the other? The documentary has a solid scientific basis, and you really do learn something about current insights regarding various crow species. It is also fascinating to see those colorful scientists at work with their specific research methods. At the same time, the narrator in 'Krähen - Nature Is Watching Us' (2023) draws far-reaching conclusions from the insights in the documentary. It is all a bit exaggerated, certainly due to the dreamy animation segments interspersed throughout. You would almost start to believe that the scientific consensus is that crows will one day surpass us.
