This is actually an ode to the 80s that I liked, unlike that camp Miasma (wtf was that?). A bit of a mix of all kinds of films from that era, totally devoid of substance, but okay in terms of form.

An ex-military woman with a criminal record [Adria Arjona] and her neighbors [Reginald VelJohnson, Eric Wareheim] unintentionally become involved in an experiment by a mad scientist [Dan Stevens] to turn three notorious, dead soldiers into ruthless killing machines. It is nice to see veterans VelJohnson (Die Hard) and Michael Biehn (The Terminator) at work again in this absurd but pleasantly campy sci-fi horror with a bloody finale. Quite enjoyable if you switch off your brain.

A nice old-school action piece, heavily influenced by John Carpenter's films, featuring even identical opening credits and a similar retro synthwave soundtrack. Michael Biehn also makes a brief appearance to further enhance the '80s feel. It doesn't amount to much and the plot runs out in the final half hour, but the brutal action scenes and the great atmosphere make up for a lot. Together with You're Next and The Guest, this forms (loosely) a trilogy.
