Practical Magic 2 (2026)

A decent film in which the two sisters once again have to deal with the curse that has plagued their family for generations. Not only a late, but above all an unexpected sequel. Compared to the first part, this is a more coherent story. The interaction between Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman does provide a few funny moments. The film goes on for far too long, but is still just a bit better than the first part. A narrow 3.0 stars.

I was able to see this for free thanks to a promotion at Pathé.

But what a terrible movie this is.

Truly terrible dialogue, terrible Botox Nicole and Sandra. Even though I usually like them in movies.

It was just a completely dull, boring, unfunny movie.

Part 1 wasn't really a success either, so why a part 2?

Quickly forget this monstrosity.

The sequel no one was waiting for is (not entirely surprisingly) one to quickly forget. 30 years after Practical Magic, Sally [Sandra Bullock] is just as neurotic as ever. After the death of their great-aunt [Dianne Wiest], Sally's daughters [Joey King, Maisie Williams] discover a magical book with which they can finally lift the family curse. It relies solely on the reunion of Bullock and Kidman and nostalgia for a film that already failed to impress back in 1998. More superfluous than the most superfluous superfluous superfluous.
