Definitely good for a spooky evening.

Just saw in 4DX.
The beginning was a bit of a struggle. Characters are turned into caricatures. The excessively large trash can, the microwave meal the little girl has to make herself…it’s all a bit overdone.

Subsequently, the film recovers somewhat. And as soon as the film's premise—rather clumsily—is presented, it actually becomes quite funny.

The 4D effects really added value to this Insidious. Whereas in previous films I saw in 4D the 4D effects were often only used a few times, with Out of the Further they really went all out.

Even I, as a seasoned horror viewer, was scared out of my wits a few times by the well-timed jumpscares, which are amplified by 4D.

If you don't have the option: I think you're going to get quite a few scares even without 4D.

Although it lacks some of the subtlety of some earlier installments - the goosebumps I got from Tiptoe Through the Tulips in part 1 remain unmatched- Insidious: Out of the Further certainly guarantees a spooky evening. Even if you haven't seen the previous installments. Although the return of Elise is of course nice for fans of the series.

I caught it right away on the evening of the release at the Vue, together with my sister. As horror lovers, we’ve seen all the previous parts together as well. It was quite quiet; I think there were about 25 of us in the main theater.

Number six in the Insidious franchise already. Of the original cast, only Lin Shaye returns, reprising her role as Elise. It's nice to see her shine one more time at the age of 81. Some new ideas are added regarding traveling back and forth to "The Further." Otherwise, it's a bit of a repeat; fans know what to expect by now. Still, it's an entertaining installment, with the beginning being by far the strongest, especially the scene with the "hut." Later on, it got a bit goofy, where one of the dead even pushes the other to point upwards.

The creepy soundtrack is provided by Joseph Bishara, just like the previous five installments.

Director Jacob Chase breathes life into a series that has been on the verge of declining quality for some time. It is clear that you can see a difference when you attach a name to your project who has already gained considerable experience in the field. Out of the Further excels with a number of well-constructed jump scares, multiple tensely filmed sequences, and a concept that brings a fresh touch to the world. However, there are downsides as well. For example, the new villain inspires little fear, the payoffs of the jump scares often leave something to be desired, and overall, the acting isn't great, but Chase nonetheless delivers what horror fans watch these kinds of films for. A small advantage is that, for a change, my audience watched a popcorn movie in silence.
