Masters of the Universe (2026)

You know what to expect beforehand, so don't come here saying this movie has no story. Indeed, there isn't much; as is often the case in these kinds of films, it's simply about good and evil. But for this kind of pulp, I go to the cinema for pure entertainment with my brain switched off. And the film flies by, given the many lighthearted action scenes, always accompanied by more or less fitting background music. Sometimes the music is nice, sometimes it isn't. Bombastic, kitschy... yes, at times it is, but ultimately it wasn't too bad. Skeletor is fun and there is plenty to enjoy in a positive sense. Is it a good movie then? Of course, with these kinds of films, you just have to accept what comes your way and not overthink or criticize too much, otherwise the movie will start to annoy you. And indeed, for quite a few people, this film will be pure pulp that they cannot enjoy, which is also their prerogative. But please don't start talking about the story here My son and I had a pretty good time watching this movie with a big Coke Zero and a bag of chips. 7/10 PS It really is expensive these days, isn't it, catching a movie with two people and getting something to eat and drink as well

With this one, I was hesitating between a *2.5-3.0

Not because the film is not entertaining and is bad.

Absolutely top entertainment for clearing your mind and going.

But unfortunately, it wasn't an enjoyable watch; the pace was slowed down in the middle by unnecessary dialogue.

I would have preferred 30 minutes less of the over-the-top action that the film is all about, because it’s not about the story anyway. I also found that Evil Lynn so annoying; just Skeletor would have been more than enough, and I couldn't shake the feeling that this character was played by Sarah Paulson, who isn't my favorite actress either.

In short, top-notch entertainment, just go check this out.

A decent film about a young man searching for a powerful sword he has lost. The storyline didn't really captivate me, but it is presented in an adventurous way. There is also a healthy dose of (self-aware) humor, which makes it entertaining. It does go on too long, though, and the whole thing reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy, but just a little less so. A solid 3.0 stars.
