The Internship (2026)

Mediocre action film. The story isn't great, but that's to be expected within the genre. Unfortunately, the execution isn't much better. There's little buildup or character development, so you're never really drawn into the film. They also couldn't decide between a serious, hard-hitting action film and a more childish version. The result is a rather strange mix of not-quite-humor, not-quite-hard-hitting violence, not-quite-tough-action-heroes, and not-quite-children's-movie. The acting isn't great either. Visually, the film's most successful. 2.0/2.5

It is a nice and fresh cast, though – none of whom I’ve seen before, and there are no cameos or crowd-pullers on the poster either. And they act well – well, good enough, because this production perhaps doesn't demand very much. The visuals are fresh too; nothing really wrong with that.

Unfortunately, that's about the only positive news, because the story is absolutely rubbish. Just another lame plot about hitmen, and plagiarized haphazardly from anything that ever got killed in – from the Bourne films right up to Desperado. No, stealing well isn't better than inventing it yourself – inventing it yourself is original, and that is always better.
