A good 30 minutes full of clichés (Statham alone, looking gloomily into space and not tolerating anyone around him - that he eventually comes to care about that child isn't even very believable but you quickly forgive Statham, I enjoy watching his annual movie) although the film is actually quite watchable.
After that, the film just keeps getting better and better. Great action and, above all, full of cool directing ideas. Think of the scene in the nightclub, especially after that, with great club music blaring in the background and action on screen. Lovely atmospheric shots of the Scottish countryside and modern London. All in all, enjoyable viewing. 3.5*.

A mediocre film about a man living a secluded life on an island until his past catches up with him. A thin and largely unoriginal plot. A typical case of "I've seen it all before." It's quietly built up, and Jason Statham does his usual thing. It might not be bad, but it barely held my attention.

Statham in action, always great! Here too, he's essentially playing himself again, a quiet and hard-working guy hiding from whom and why becomes clear fairly quickly. He can handle these kinds of roles with his eyes closed and always guarantees a good dose of action. I did like the setting on that island in the Hebrides, and I hoped the film would largely take place there, but the moment they leave the island, I quickly found it all less captivating. Still plenty of action, but the setting isn't as enjoyable anymore. Well, 3-tje, he's got better action films to his name.
