A decent action comedy. The story is somewhat absurd but socially critical. The execution is daring and partly quite successful. The start is good and the tone is set. After that, it looks a bit messy with flashbacks and slight chaos in the story. The middle section is a bit on the tedious side but isn't boring. Towards the end, things really let loose and the logic becomes less relevant. Rockwell delivers a rock-solid performance and carries the film. Visually also well done with funny visuals and decent CGI. 3.0/3.5

A sort of inverted version of The Terminator, with Sam Rockwell in fine form as a time traveler driven to the brink of extinction who wants to protect the world from an evil artificial intelligence. Too long, with a few subplots that could easily have been cut, and not exactly subtle, but there is nonetheless much to enjoy and the film has an infectious energy.

They should make more movies like this. It reminded me of a mix of Terminator and Edge of Tomorrow. The Terminator has to put together the right combination of people in a restaurant to prevent AI from taking over the world. If he fails, he has to reset the day and try another combo. It doesn't really make sense, because why doesn't he just grab a car and drive the few streets to the final destination, and why does he even need a group... but it was a fun movie, especially after being forced to watch Solo Mio earlier this week.
