Revolt plot
Humanity faces a catastrophic foreign invasion. In the war-ravaged African countryside, an amnesiac American soldier and a French aid worker team up to survive the alien attack. As they traverse the battlefield in search of a safe haven, their bond is put to the test when the soldier discovers his true identity.

Bit boring.
I usually appreciate these kinds of videos, but for some reason this one didn't really hold my attention for a minute. In terms of design, it reminded me a bit of District 9, but in terms of execution it is a lot less exciting.
The first minutes promised quite a bit, but actually those were also the best minutes. Directors from South Africa always know how to put down the designs well, but to then let them walk around nicely was apparently no longer a budget.
Problem with Revolt is that it doesn't want to get interesting for seconds after the action-packed first minutes. The camera work is rather distant, tension and threat are hard to find and the action is unfortunately not too special. Apart from a few fast movements, there is also little adrenaline to be seen.
Film then works itself into a fairly boring 90 minutes towards the end and then you have a bit of an incomplete feeling. The fights don't impress enough. Despite the beautiful designs and at times exciting action scenes through the middle, the film has little to do.
Final phase is also not really on the interesting side. Film sometimes tries to follow a trail of War of the Worlds, but that film still had a world of difference in the form of empathy and tension. This movie looks nice at times, and that's about it. I was hoping for a cool movie after the first 5 minutes, but that was actually about the best part of the whole movie.

Pretty average science fiction action movie. The story is far from original, has some plot holes and no surprises. In addition, some things remain unclear. Other than that, the movie looks good. There is plenty of action and the film contains some tense moments. Visually, the film looks quite good with, given the limited budget, nice special effects. The acting is otherwise okay. Nice snack. 2.5/3.0

Watched it today, thought it was an entertaining film, no boring parts discovered, nice characters, but a bit disappointing towards the end.
Actually, the movie got a lot less when dropped out / got sucked in well before the end Nadia (the female protagonist), I had hoped to see her again at the end and was reunited with ''Bo'' (the male protagonist)
The film is a bit like ''War of the worlds'', the film has a short running time and therefore it is never boring, but it never gets really exciting and good.
There are also quite a few questions left unanswered...
