Kyrah and Isaac were once the leaders of a multinational secret service called the Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love and went underground to protect their son. Weak action film. We've seen the story before and it's far from original. The execution is mediocre. The build-up is okay but what follows has little content. Not that it's really necessary within this genre, but with these actors and director you expect a bit more, certainly with the somewhat more serious approach compared to e.g. Boss Level or Smokin' Aces. The action scenes are also not very strong and quite standard. Some scenes are almost laughable. They take it all a bit too seriously. The actors also visibly struggle with the script. Visually otherwise reasonably shot. 2.0/2.5

A lousy action film with a particularly implausible premise, annoying characters, and a severe lack of action. And the action scenes that do exist are utterly pathetic. Mark Strong is entertaining as the villain, but the rest of the cast is worthless. An unusual failure for director Joe Carnahan, who is usually reliable.
