Very nice working at 4°C again.
I didn't know this was based on the same source material as Edge of Tomorrow, but after about fifteen minutes it started to dawn on me. The setup is slightly different, and in terms of art design, it has turned out to be a very different film as well. Whereas EoT was rather grim, gray, and Western, this is primarily colorful and much more imaginative.
The animation is strong, the pacing and running time are perfect, and the repetitive nature of the story is less bothersome, although it still remains a minor stumbling block for me. Time loops are just inherently a bit boring. But otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this film, which I found much better than its Hollywood predecessor.
