Short Dick Man plot

In Short Dick Man, Matthijs investigates why he has been burdened with the crippling insecurity about the size of his penis his entire life. Matthijs avoids places like urinals and locker rooms and doesn't dare to walk around in swimming trunks on a hot summer day. He only wears loose clothing, refrains from all dating apps and always gives a disclaimer beforehand when it comes to sexual contact. How did this insecurity come to play such a defining role in his life and, more importantly, how does he get rid of it?

The insecurity of the homosexual Matthijs Janssen about the length of his penis is such an obstacle that he seeks help from a psychologist. In this documentary, Timmers reconstructs everyday moments with the help of actors, such as using a public toilet (the urinal) and changing in a men's locker room, to help Matthijs overcome his phobia. It is good that a taboo and its underlying causes are investigated, but the good intentions are lost after a surprising revelation during a visit to the urologist.
